Siberian ginseng (Eleutherococcus senticosus) is a shrubby plant native to parts of Russia, China, Korea, and Japan. The plant belongs to the Araliaceae family and is botanically related to, but distinct from, the better-known Panax species such as Korean ginseng (Panax ginseng) and American ginseng (Panax quinquefolius).
The roots of Siberian ginseng have long been mentioned in East Asian and Russian botanical literature. These historical and cultural sources describe the plant as part of traditional practices. This long history of use has also led to Siberian ginseng becoming known beyond its native range.

The great yellow gentian, also known as Gentiana lutea, is a perennial plant in the gentian family (Gentianaceae). It grows naturally in European mountains, primarily at altitudes up to 2200 meters.
The plant can reach a height of 0.5–1.5 meters. Its opposite leaves have five to seven arching veins. The large yellow flowers appear in clusters of three to ten in the axils of the upper leaves, but the plant only blooms after seven to ten years and can then live for 40 to 60 years.

Bitterwood, known in Suriname as kwasibita, is the heartwood of Quassia amara, a plant species in the Quassia genus, belonging to the Simaroubaceae family. The plant is native to tropical South America.
Quassia amara is a small, evergreen shrub found in regions including the Guyanas, northern Brazil, and Venezuela. The plant grows primarily in the rainforest understory. Its striking bright red flowers, which are primarily pollinated by hummingbirds, are a striking feature. Because of these decorative flowers, the plant is also cultivated outside its natural habitat as an ornamental.

Propolis is a natural, reddish-brown substance produced by honeybees. Within the hive, bees use propolis as a building and sealing material, among other things, to close openings and strengthen the hive's structure.
Honeybees collect propolis starting in the summer on warm days by gathering resins from the buds and leaves of trees and other plants. These resins are mixed with beeswax and processed with saliva and the bees' legs, creating propolis.
Propolis consists of a combination of plant resins, beeswax, essential oils, and pollen, along with small amounts of vitamins and minerals. The composition can vary depending on the plants in the hive's environment.

The juniper (Juniperus communis) is a conifer native to Europe, Asia, and North America. The plant bears both flowers and berries, which vary in color from green to black as they ripen. The name Juniperus derives from the Celtic word juneprus, meaning rough, prickly, or bitter, while communis means "common."
The black berries of the juniper have a characteristically bitter and aromatic flavor. It takes about three years for the berries to fully ripen: in the first year, the flowers appear, in the second year they turn green, and in the third year they turn blue and then black or dark purple.

California poppy, also known as golden poppy (Eschscholtzia californica), is a plant with golden-yellow flowers belonging to the poppy family. The plant is native to California, which explains its name.
The aerial parts of the golden poppy contain various natural compounds, including quinolide alkaloids, rutin, phytosterols, carotenoids, and cyanogen glycosides. Indigenous peoples in North America used the plant for their traditional purposes.
Today, California poppy is used in herbal teas and other herbal preparations and is valued for its botanical characteristics and aromatic properties.

The Juglans regia, also known as walnut, walnut or walnut, belongs to the walnut family (Juglandaceae). This species is also known as common walnut or Persian walnut, to avoid confusion with the genus Juglans. Other species in the genus Juglans include the white walnut and the black walnut.
This deciduous tree can reach a height of up to 30 meters with a crown that can be more than 10 meters wide. The leaves are odd-pinnate and can be 25-40 cm long, consisting of five to nine leaflets per compound leaf. The three largest leaflets are located at the end of the leaf and measure 10-18 cm long and 6-8 cm wide. The leaflets at the base of the leaf are smaller, usually 5-8 cm long.

Marshmallow (Althaea officinalis) belongs to the mallow family (Malvaceae) and has been spread worldwide by human activity, especially to areas with suitable soil, humidity and climate.
The starch in the carrot, mixed with proteinaceous substances, was formerly used in making marshmallows and bacon. The leaves can be eaten cooked and the flowers can be used raw in salads.

Lungwort belongs to the genus Pulmonaria within the borage family (Boraginaceae). The botanical name is derived from the Latin word pulmo, meaning "lung." This name refers to the striking leaf markings of some species, such as spotted lungwort, which were once compared to the appearance of human lungs.
This association played an important role in the theory of signatures, a traditional doctrine in which it was believed that a plant's appearance provided clues to its intended use. Based on this line of thought, lungwort was historically used for conditions associated with the lungs.
The Dutch name lungwort is derived directly from the botanical name. Similar names also appear in other Western European languages, indicating the plant's wide cultural and historical renown.
