Arnica, also known as wolverlei (Arnica montana), is a perennial plant belonging to the composite family (Asteraceae). This plant naturally occurs in the Alps, Pyrenees, the Balkans and southern Scandinavia. You can also find it in the east of the Netherlands and in the Belgian Ardennes.
The plant grows to a height of 20-45 cm with a sparsely branched stem. Its leaves are opposite each other and are 2-4 cm wide. The lower leaves have an elliptical to obovate-lanceolate shape, while the upper pair of leaves are linear-lanceolate.

Arnica blooms in June and July with fragrant, orange-yellow flowers. The flower heads are 6-8 cm wide and have a convex, hairy flower base. The pappus consists of a row of hairs and the fruit is a nut.
Arnica is widely used in phytotherapy. It is also used in toothpaste, hair water and other cosmetic products. Compresses with an arnica infusion can be used for muscle pain, bruises and sore spots, but the concentration should not be too high to avoid skin irritation. An infusion of the flowers can also be used. Arnica flowers contain essential oils, flavonoids and sesquiterpene lactones of the helenaline type.
Ingredients: Water-alcohol extract of Arnica montana
(Arnica) flower. Ratio 1:5.
Alcohol content 70% v/v.
Dosage: Unless otherwise recommended: adults: 3-4 times daily 15-20 drops.
Do not exceed recommended dosage.
Children aged 2 - 15 years as many drops as their age.
A slight cloudiness/sedimentation has no influence on the quality. Shake before use.
