Pine Tincture - Pinus silvestris Tincture

Single herbal tincture made with dried needle of Pinus silvestris (Pine).

The Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris) belongs to the pine family (Pinaceae) and can reach a respectable age of 200 to 300 years, thanks to its rich resin content.

In phytotherapy, the needles and buds of the Scots pine are used because of their content of tannins, flavonoids and vitamins. The oleoresin of this tree is rich in turpentine. This species is known for its abundant monoterpenes, such as α-pinene, β-pinene and limonene, which form an essential oil with expectorant, antiseptic, decongestant, venolymphatic and anti-inflammatory properties.

Both the needles and especially the pine buds are used as an expectorant and expectorant, making mucus liquefied and secreted more easily in the respiratory tract. Scots pine improves breathing capacity and soothes coughs due to its antitussive properties.

It has anti-inflammatory and decongestant effects on the upper respiratory tract, targeting the bronchopulmonary region. It is used for conditions such as mucous cough, respiratory infections and even chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Scots pine also exhibits antibacterial properties by inhibiting the growth of bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, and it has a known antifungal effect, especially against fungi of the genera Penicillium and Aspergillus.

Therapist

A therapist is a professional who deals with the treatment of physical or mental illness as a profession. There are countless specializations within this broad field, each with their own treatment methods. Some examples are physiotherapists, dietitians, occupational therapists, homeopaths, kinesiologists, osteopaths, mental coaches and hypnotherapists. An important aspect of the therapy is the orthomolecular treatment method, in which nutrition and supportive supplementation play a role.

In contrast to symptom management, the focus of therapy is often on addressing the underlying causes of disorders and promoting preventive health. All aspects that influence health are taken into consideration, such as diet, stress management, exercise and emotional state.

Each client receives a personal treatment plan that is developed by the therapist. This plan is drawn up on the basis of consultations, questionnaires and food diaries to gain an in-depth insight into the client's lifestyle. In addition, various tests and examinations can be performed to determine the balance in the body.
